Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a spiritual and humanitarian leader who is well-known around the world. He has led an extraordinary global campaign to create a stress-free, violence-free society. Gurudev, who was born in 1956 in Southern India, was a talented youngster. He could recite the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Sanskrit book, at the age of four and was frequently found in meditation. He is educated in both Vedic literature and science.

At 1982, Gurudev observed a ten-day time of silence in Shimoga, Karnataka, India. Sudarshan Kriya, a potent breathing method, was created. The Sudarshan Kriya eventually became the centrepiece of the Art of Living courses.
