Satguru Rampal Ji Maharaj was born in a farming family on September 8, 1951, in Village Dhanana, Tehsil Gohana, District Sonipat (Haryana). Bhakt Nandram is his father’s name, and Bhaktmati Indradevi is his mother’s name. Maharaj Ji was employed as a J.E. in the Haryana Government’s irrigation department after earning a diploma in engineering. You have been religious from infancy. You have been worshipping Hanuman Ji for the past 25 years.
You chanted Hanuman Chalisa seven times a day and travelled to a famous Hanuman Ji temple in the hamlet Salahsar, district Churu, Rajasthan, to worship for eighteen years in a row. In addition, you used to worship Shri Krishna Ji as your god. You did not regard any other deity to be bigger than him and used to worship Khatu Shyam Ji at home. You used to spend hours meditating. Even after all of these religious rituals, you did not see or meet God, nor did you achieve bodily or mental well-being. You were constantly encountering sadhus and mahatmas who had a burning desire to realise God.
One day, you met a 107 years old great Kabir Panthi Saint Swami Ramdevanand Ji Maharaj. You asked Swami ji how can one achieve God and acquire mental peace? Swami Ji asked, “What religious practices do you follow?” You said, “I keep fast, go to temples and worship Hanuman Ji, Shri Krishna Ji and Shyam Ji. I celebrate all the festivals and also perform shraadhs etc.”
